Reclaiming an abandoned landmark movie house that has served the community since the 1930s, this renovation encourages community use and interaction through public programs and displays. The project reaches out to the community through large street-level window openings and a sidewalk cafe. A new second floor in the existing building provides artist live-in work studios and a public exhibition area open to the reception and gallery space below.
